Hello there! 👋
I am a graduate student in the Ecohydrology Lab at UNH, with research interests in biogeochemistry, plant ecology, and remote sensing. My current work looks at how prescribed burns can help regenerate Northern red oak (Quercus rubra) in its climate change-induced northward expansion. This project is funded by the Northeastern States Research Cooperative.
Welcome to our collective diary. I find a lot of joy in journaling my daily life. It allows me to reflect, celebrate, and grieve happenings in my life that may seem trivial to others. A major part of who I am is my relationship with ecology, both professionally and recreationally. I hope to share it with you just for the sake of sharing itself, and also to provide you with more digestible and fun-to-read pieces of ecological knowledge.
Besides daily blog entries on my research, tid-bits from classes I find interesting, and ecology in the everyday life, below are some special segments I’ll attempt to do:
Wingspan Wednesday 🐦
Wingspan is my all-time favorite board game! It’s an engine-building game using cards with gorgeous illustrations of birds. I used to care less about birds (sorry ornithologist friends!) but have increasingly warmed up to them :) In this segment, I hope to highlight a bird every week: ID key, fun facts, pics from the world wide web, and whatnot.
Connections/Mini Crossword Sunday (NYT Style!) 🕵️
Admit it. You always start the day by doing a round of NYT games - Wordle, Connections, Spelling Bee, etc. Well, I’m hoping you would want to end your week by playing my ecology-focused mini game every Sunday!
This is it for now I think. Connect with me if you have any comments, or just want to chat via channels below. I also have a personal website! Check it out :)
